Built in 1870 the first presidential library in the United States, built by Charles Francis Adams to honor his father John Quincy Adams. The Library includes over 14,000 books written in twelve languages. Here he wrote the Memoirs of his father, and his son, Henry Adams, wrote the classic 9-volume History of the United States.
